Well, I promised some news and now I’m ready to deliver. For the past year, we’ve had a great time living down in Vancouver, but it has become too expensive for us to stay down there. The downside is that we’re a little further from the great beers and people down in the Vancouver/Portland area. The upside is that we’re more centrally located between Seattle, where a lot of great things are happening, and Portland where there’s just as much.
The next, best part about the move is that we can check out a lot of the micro breweries that have been started up and down the I-5 corridor. Even though I get home late, I still have opportunities to stop in to new venues on either side of the Interstate. This should give me a few more places to check out and give you a reason to visit.
Well, it’s a short update tonight, but I do want to leave you with tonight’s beer: Sweetgrass APA from Grand Teton Brewing out of Idaho. It’s a 6.0 ABV American Pale Ale that says it is 60 IBU. I might have to disagree with that assessment, as it was sweeter than I would have liked. All in all, I do like it, but I just wasn’t expecting it to be as sweet as it was.
